Videostudio X2 on Vista 64-bit crashing when inserting video

Post by kwoolner »

Hi,

I am running Videostudio X2 Pro on Vista x64, and am having problems adding video clips to a library. When I choose Insert Video... the Open Video File window opens, and before I can select any files, VideoStudio crashes.

Has this happened to anyone before? Is it a specific to Vista 64-bit? This is a new PC (Core 2 Duo 3Ghz) and the first system I've run a 64-bit OS on, so am not sure if this is a known compatibility issue, or if there is a workaround.

Thanks,
Keith

Hi Keith,

not a bad pc spec there - how do you find that 4670?

As a first step, though you may already have done this, make sure that you have the latest DirectX Nov 2008 update installed. see the sticky at the top of this forum.

The 4670 works great so far. But I am not a heavy gamer, and was more interested in energy efficiency, noise, and cost than utmost performance.

I neglected to mention it, but I had applied all the available driver updates, including the DirectX Nov 2008, before posting my question.

However, since then, a uninstall/reinstall of Videostudio seems to have resolved up my problem, at least for now.

Thanks for the help!

Keith
