why is it taking so long?-

I try to cut a long video into several parts, i used the "export" option on my 4.0 version program.

the cut video is only about 30 minutes, but the export time takes about over 1 hour and 20 mins? is it normal?

or maybe i used the wrong method to cut the video?

It can take 1 and a half times the duration of the video to convert it.
A lot depends upon your computer and how powerful it is, plus the format being converted to/from.
