VideoStudio 2x and SE

Post by daredwood »

I have installed and tried to capture video from my DVR using a VC500 video capture device by Diamond. On both the trial version 2x and the SE software (which came with the device) when trying to capture the video, using the wizard, I get an error message stating the capture video graph cannot be started. Any suggestions to the cause of the problem?

Did the device come with its own software? If so it is recommended that you use that for capture, then use VS to edit.

I think what Black Lab is asking about is any *capture* software which came with the device. You say it came with some "SE software", but can you tell us what the full name of that software is. And was there any other software perhaps on the installation disk which could be used for capture.

By the way, the Video Studio version is X2 (i.e. 12) and and not 2X...

The device did come with its own capture software but I was hoping to use the Ulead videostudio se dvd (I think it may be a watered down version of 10) for the capture since it has a timing function. Also, I got the same message when trying to capture from the integrated web cam on my laptop.

Yes I can capture okay with the device's software it doesn't have a timer therefore I have to manually stop it.
