Customize keeps disappearing

I was kindly given an answer to this two years ago but after a format I have forgotten how to do it. I like to place Optimize, Resolution, Resize buttons on the top toolbar from the Customize section but every time I re-open PI they are gone. How do I keep them there permanently? Thank you for your help. Peter

Forgot to mention it is PI 12 on Win XP.
