installing vs pro x2 question

Post by coachm212 »

I already have vs 10 installed on my computer, so I purchased the upgrade version (at a slightly lower cost). Do I uninstall vs10 and then install x2. The directions do not specify but the sticker on the box leads me to beleive you just install x2 with vs10 already installed, the sticker says "The Corel VideoStudio X2 ugrade version will install if you have ulead VideoStudio 6,7,8,9,10,11,11.5 or 11.5 plus" Can you help me out?

Each successive version of VS is a complete stand-alone program. You can have multiple versions installed. You can only run one version at a time though...;)

You will need the serial number of a previous version handy, as with the upgrades, they will ask for that serial number too...

Just to clarify one of Ron's points. The upgrade version is in fact the full version, the same as you get if you bought the program as if you have never had any other version. There are some code differences, though, and as Ron said, the upgrade version will ask for the serial number of the older version first, then its own new serial number.

But another thing with VS12 is that it installs in an entirely new folder under the Corel label, whereas all the previous versions installed in separate sub-folders of a Ulead folder.
