upgraded to x2 pro and windvd won't load but did change
I installed the x2pro upgrade. I also have 11.5 on the machine. 11.5 came with windvd 8 silver and I tried to install the bonus windvd 8 that came with the new version and it said it would update windvd (I also have a trial 9 running at this time). It always asks to install disk: 1 whatever that is. I tried to use 11.5 cd, etc. to no avail. I finally conceled out of the install and now when I open windvd8 it says windvd8 gold instead of silver! Does anyone know what the "insert disk: 1" is?

It sounds like you have fallen into the common trap experienced by many.
To install the version of WinDVD that ships with X2 you must run the X2 installer and NOT the WinDVD installer that you find in amongst the folders forming the set up files.
You can also put things back with Windows Restore - but don't wait too long because Windows Restore only keeps back up copies for a limited period of time before they are replaced by newer back ups.
