Main/Chapter Menus

Post by hjsaka »

I am very new at creating DVDs from videos. However, through trial and error, I have been able to create DVDs using VideoStudio12. My question is in regards to how Menus behave on a burnt DVD. When I watch a rented DVD, a Menu appears on the screen and it stays "fixed" on the screen until I select "play all" or selected chapters. On my DVDs I create, the menu appears but the first clip also appears to play (in the background?) before any selection is made. Is there a way to create a menu(s) like the rented DVDs? I've looked everywhere on the system and the only thing I can see that may be doing this is that during the "burn" process, the "Detailed Progress" shows it "building motion background of menu page", which I have no control over. Am I making sense? Can I create Menus that behave like the rented DVDs?

When you get to the menu selection window click on the Edit tab. At the top of the tab is Background Music. Just under that is the box for Motion Menu. Uncheck that box for a static menu.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for your tip. Boy, it sure is obvious after you find out what to do. I just didn't relate that "Motion" button to the motion of the menu. I burnt a lot of discs trying to figure this simple thing out. Thanks again.
