Hi - I'm new to VS12 and I'm sure that I'm missing something obvious so please be patient.
How - in the edit stage of VS12 - do you easily add a chapter point as you preview the video file ?
Thanks,
Jim

In the top right corner of VS click on the "?" to open the help file. On the search tab type in "Chapter Marker" and up will come Adding Cues and Chapters.

Believe it or not (Ripley doesn't), VS Pro X2 is more advanced than MSP was in this regard.
With MSP 8 there is a keyboard shortcut for adding Cue Points, not Chapter points. However that is not so with VS Pro X2..
NOTE This is not documented anywhere. I just applied the Keyboard shortcut from MSP8 in VS Pro and found it works for both...
Depending on if you have Cue Marks or Chapter Marks, pressing Play, and then press [F5] while your clip/project is playing, will place the Cue/Chapter marks along the timeline without having to pause, without having to manually place them using your mouse. The [F5] shortcut works for both..

EDITED
I just tried this with VS 10 and VS 11.5+, and found this shortcut works in both. However the Cue Point was not available in VS10+, just Chapter Point.
So in VS10+, you can use the [F5] key to insert Chapter Points while playing the timeline.
With VS11.5+ and VS Pro/Ultimate X2 pressing [F5] while playing the timeline will add either Chapter or Cue Points, depending on which you have showing. You can add you cue points, then change to Chapter Points, and then add them, and VS will not remove previously added Cue Points.
Maybe everyone already knew this but it was unknown to me, until now..
