upgrading to vs x2 or pro

Post by coachm212 »

Can you bring a vs10 project into vs x2 timeline and then continue editing? Another words are they compatible as far as the saved projects go?

Yes VS is backwards compatible, so versions earlier than the current VS Pro X2 can be opened in it....;)

I assume you are talking about custom libraries?

You can copy the libraries from v11 then past them back into v12. The library files you need to copy are:
Video = VS_Video.dat
Audio = VS_Audio.dat
Images = VS_Image.dat
(The same format applies to titles, flash, colors, etc.)

They can be found in C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0

For Vista machines, those library files are located:
Local Disk (C: )\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11.0

Vista replaced the Documents & Settings with Users folder, shortened the name from Application Data to just AppData, and has the Roaming folder.

Note there are 3 folders under Users; Local, Local Low, and Roaming. The files you need to backup are found under the Roaming folder.
