Star Trek Transporter Effect vs 11+

Post by Ken Veal »

I have faded in a person into a background by filming it then fading in a
person using the same scene and overlay fade in.
How do you get the transporter effect showing the outline of the person
filled with "texture" before the actual person appears? ................Ken

I don't know how to accomplish that, however I split this post from where it was so that you will stand a better chance of getting a knowledgeable response.

I think the person to be "transported" would need to be dressed from head to toe in the same color so you could chroma-key the person out, ultimately showing the texture that you would have on the track underneath. Sort of like this: http://www.videomaker.com/article/12241/

You would need to save a image of the person and use a photo editing
software where you can extract the person and give them a solid color
and give the background a chromakey color.

Neel Mehta "one of the members here" has a website of tutorials bundles
that he sales and one includes the Star Trek Effect tutorial and includes
the Star Trek Transporter file to use in your video.

you can find it here
http://www.seeitdoit.tv/default.asp

I have the tutorials myself and they are great!
