Format missmatch on VS 10+

Post by weaver »

Hi

I use VS 10+ several years. Since 2,5 years all my original videos are HDV 1440x1080.

I have sometimes problems with the VS10+ to recognize and keep the format (size and resolution).

A.

When I put my videos to the timelime, everything is OK. When I insert some black (or any) color in the front of the video, or to one of the additional videotracks a decoration or static picture (carefully resized to 1440x1080 format) those inserts sometimes (not always) makes the VS crazy and after the new start the whole project comes up as a DVD format (720x576) instead of the correct 1440x1080.
I cannot find any preset etc. where I can firmly stay on the HDV format.

B.
A similar issue happens also when I render my project. In the presets the VS says this is a 1440x1080 format (in gray area is 16:9).
When I open the rendering window and select either PAL HDV (1440x1080, 25 fps) or PAL DVD (16:9) as a final product, in the gray window comes a message the video is in format PAL HDV (1440x1080, 25fps but ( 4:3) , the same is also in case of DVD format.
The rendered video mostly is correct, in several cases the picture size jumps when for some reason the VS finds a non native HDV material (like static pictures, decoration, maps) according the description A above.

Is there any solution to preselect the firm project format? When the first clip is not a native HDV material the presets does not allow to select 1440x1080 picture size.

Thank you for your help.
