Left with nothing.

After buying Corel's WinDVD 9 and finding it to to be utterly broken and useless.

As I posted here.

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=32197

I've also found it to NOT have a proper frame stepping button, pushing the video back 2 or more seconds and not allowing for slow motion, controled TRUE frame stepping and also not allowing for me to advance forwards by one frame either. The last WinDVD player to have a proper Frame stepping Button was WinDVD6. Yes from 2003. So I went out and found it. This program has a frame stepping button that could be hot-keyed to your mouse wheel and that ran fine for the last 5 or so months....

The latest Windows Vista updates seem to have broken WinDVD6 and will not allow it to properly install.

Ok really honestly how in the world are there NO DVD players on the market that feature frame stepping? This is both insane and pathetic. The closest I've found was PowerDVD8 and it jumps nearly 5 seconds when you hit it. No smooth rewind no nothing. Why is it that I can buy a DVD player for $29.00 off the shelf, but every single piece of software on the market is shipping gimped and broken? Really this is just sad.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a DVD player that actually functions at the level of an off the shelf piece of hardware or at least have some form of real frame stepping... For the love of God point it out because this is driving me insane.

Let me restate this. Yes I own WinDVD9. It is garbage and I don't use it. Point me out some software that WORKS please.

Wow, DVD9 is such a piece of garbage. Why in the hell does it think hitting pause should turn off A-B repeat? That doesn't even make SENSE! If I wanted it to do that, I would have done that myself!

Just tried moving DVD9 to my secondary monitor that I use for watching movies. Image becomes completely un-viewable. In other words I can't even watch DVDs in real time with this piece of trash.

Just purchased Cyberlink PowerDVD8, Its missing a lot of things. But at least it doesn't break when I switch screens. Also the stepping is alright once I enabled Visio.
