Hallo everybody,
I use VideoStudio V10 a long time now.
I have recognized that VideoStudio V10 produces by itself more and more scratch data files in a subfolder named 10.0,
e.g. files named like uvs060812_145027~0.mpg, uvs060803-003.BMP, and folders like uvs061129_174712~0_, etc.
If I open these files, e.g. by calling Irfanview, these files seem to have the same content as my source files, which I imported to VideoStudio.
My questions:
(1) Is there a utility software available, which helps me to delete that files, which I will never use in the future?
or
(2) Can I delete from time to time all those files without having any disadvantages?
Background to my question:
I know VideoStudio must produce scratch data for itself to perform smart rendering, format conversions etc. and I assume that these files are related with these subjects somehow. As I often change from time to time old projects with a recut I want to ask whether VideoStudio automatically generates these files by itself if they have been deleted. In this case I have of course the disadvantage that it takes some time for the renewed generation of that files, but will it work in that way?
(3) Is there a brief description available what kind of files are automatically generated and why?

No additional files are created to use ¡¥Smart Render¡¦
From version 10 the only scratch files, (if that¡¦s what they are called) are created by the ¡¥Smart Proxy¡¦ option. The saving location can be allocated by the user from File ¡V Preferences - Smart Proxy tab. This option by default is NOT selected. This option would normally be used when working with HD files. There is a Proxy Manager under ¡¥Tools¡¦

The ¡¥Working Folder¡¦ or ¡¥Capture Folder¡¦ can be allocated again from File ¡V Preferences ¡V General tab. (or the capture window) Editing options such as ¡¥Saving as still image¡¦ ¡V ¡¥Save trimmed video¡¦ + some other options would be saved here. Your capture files would be placed here.

Preview Folder accessed from File ¡V Preferences- Preview tab
This folder is used when you select ¡¥High Quality Playback¡¦
Your project is rendered to files saved to the preview folder and used for playback.
You can access the Preview Manager from Tools
If you have selected ¡¥Instant Playback¡¦ then these folders will not be used.

In the burner module (Share--create Disc) there is a ¡¥working folder¡¦. This is a separate/different working folder mentioned earlier. (yes we have 2 working folders) Again the user can allocate a save location. (press F6) to view.
When you render a project in the burner module VS creates temp¡¦ files saved to folders called ¡¥Burn¡¦ and ¡¥Create¡¦. The disc being burned using these files. Usually the temp¡¦ files are removed automatically.
If you use the workflow to render in the burner module then check these folders for leftover files.

There are no folders Afaik that are hidden from the user. All folders can be allocated by the user.

I have not described my concern clearly enough.
Since the use of the program VideoStudio 10 some years ago a folder named "Ulead VideoStudio/10.0" has been created on my personal account with 22 subfolders and 1.451 files, currently the size of 51,4 GByte.
At any time I work with VideoStudio 10 this folder becomes larger and larger.
Can I delete these files without having problems by recutting old projects?
