Hello!
I have a problem with the programm Ulead DVD MovieFactory.
Earlier it worked fine, lately i created list of video files to be burned to DVD, and on step 2 (create menu) programm crashed:
"Cannot create menu". How the error can be fixed?
Thank You in advance.

DVD MovieFactory crashed: Cannot create menu
A crash usually means there's something "wrong" with one or more of your source audio/video files.
You'll probably have to use a process of elimination to find the offending file(s) Once you find the problem file, you may be able to re-encode it or convert it to another format. Or, depending on where the files came from, it may be possible to re-capture in a different format.

What are the formats/properties of the audio, video, and still files used in your project? The more-compressed formats tend to cause the most trouble. (If you're using "AVI" files, we need the details, because "AVI" can use any type of compression.)...lately i created list of video files...

DVD MovieFactory crashed: Cannot create menu
Thank you for your answer!
The problem "Cannot create menu" happens with any files, no matter which format: m2ts, mov or only avi (divx, xvid), or their combination.
I tried to solve the problem by reinstalling the programm, also i tried 6 and 7 trial version - the same error - on step 2 (create menu) programm crashed: "Cannot create menu".
Puzzle!

But, DivX, Xvid, and MOV are highly-compressed and highly-trouble-prone... They can be "difficult" to edit or convert. If you work with lots of different formats from lots of different sources, you are going to have trouble with some of them. (i.e. If somebody gave me a DivX file, an Xvid file, and a MOV file, and asked me to combine all three onto one DVD, I would expect to have trouble... Although, I can't predict which file will cause the problem, or what kind of problem I'm going to get.)
Are you using any audio files (i.e. MP3) or any still images? If so, try eliminating these.
If you haven't updated DirectX lately, that sometimes solves "strange" problems.
Something else you can try:
Use SUPER (FREE!!!) to convert one of your your files to DVD compatible MPEG-2 (SUPER calls it Mpeg II). There are lots of MPEG-2 options & variations, so you can look at one of the Movie Factory Project-Templates to find the settings (resolution, framerate, bitrate, etc) for a DVD compatible MPEG-2 file.
Then, try making a simple DVD from the MPEG-2 file. If that works, it confirms that there's something about your video files that Movie Factory doesn't "like". (And, you'll have a work-around.)
Or if nobody else has a solution, maybe it's time to try-out the competition...

I agree with Doug, if you can't convert DV-AVI files to MPEG-2 or can't burn MPEG-2 to a DVD then there is a another problem. But my first guess would be the formats that you are working with.
