What version of WINDVD comes with X2pro?

Post by kw »

I'm running version 11.5 and it comes with windvd 8. Does the x2 come with the full version of windvd 9? It would be cheaper for me to upgrade than buy the windvd by itself it seems. I only have a dvd burner but can create acdhd disks on regular dvd's but my computer doesn't recognize it (only tried one so far) but a Sony blu ray recognizes it and can play but menu is messed up. Would windvd 9 allow one to read acdhd disks or even blu ray files onto regular dvd's? I might use my computer to transmit via hdmi cable to hi def TV edited files instead of buying a blu ray player.

With VS Pro, WinDVD 8, however for those that can purchase the Ulitimate version, you get WinDVD 9 Plus. To play Blu-Ray, you would need WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-Ray.

I just see the upgrade and full version listed on the US site. I assume the upgrade is the pro version? Where's the ulitmate listed?

I downloaded the trial version of windvd9 and it plays a regular disk that is authored as an acdhd which before the computer wouldn't even recognized anything being on the disk and would lock up the computer and playback of that disk resulted in 10% cpu usage for smooth playback and playing raw acdhd files would require 71% usage which is also smooth. Before I had to play the files in WMP and was choppy as 90% cpu usage was probably the cause. Now the trial isn't suppose to be the version that plas acdhd according to their chart which is wierd. I may go ahead and get the X2Pro and see it the windvd in it can play acdhd's. If it does I can forgo getting a blu ray player for now.

I found out my original windvd8 silver that comes with 11+ will play an acdhd encoded regular dvd-one just has to wait a minute or two to load. CPU usages are around 60%. For some reason unauthored raw acdhd files are a blank screen on windvd8.
