After editing in VS, I create a MPEG2 file. I then add menus in MF and I then create an ISO file. When this is done I check the playback using Daemon Tools (to "mount" the iso file) and playback is fine using WinDVD.
When I then burn the DVD using MF and play back on the TV, I get a distinct "silent" spot in the audio (music track). This is not present in the iso file. I have now burnt another disc and the same thing happens at exactly the same spot.
Does any one have any clue as to what might be wrong?
Thanks

My initial thought is that you are burning a dual layer disc and the silent spot is where it crosses over from one layer to the next.
However..... You haven't given us much to work on.

I'm sorry Steve. Here are more details.
I am using a single layer disc.
I am using VS11+ (11.5.0157.2 Plus) to edit the avi file and the Share >Create Video (MPEG2 file).
Then I use MF 6.0 (6.00.0194.0) to add menus and chapters.
Video data rate is Variable (max 6000)
Audio data rate is 224kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48khz stereo
PAL format
The file plays back fine. It is only the burned DVD that has the pause in it.
I hope this helps.
Thanks

Weird... I thought the ISO file was an exact representation of the data on the DVD.
From what you've told us, I don't see anything that you are doing wrong. Maybe one of your video (or audio) files is slightly corrupt, or something like that.
If you have some other burning software (Nero or something), try burning from the ISO file with that other software.
And, if you're not doing that with Movie Factory (if you are re-rendering when you burn), try the same thing... Burn from the ISO file with Movie Factory.
In theory, the ISO is a more "stable" way (and more professional way) of doing it. But, I always make the folders. The only downside ithe I've run into is that you loose the volume ID (or whatever it's called) and you have to re-enter it when you burn. Or, you could create folders (for testing) and make an ISO file (for burning).

How about when you play the DVD on your computer? When I then burn the DVD using MF and play back on the TV...
I assume the MPEG-2 file plays is OK? Did you check the box (in MF) that says Do Not Convert Compliant MPEGs?)After editing in VS, I create a MPEG2 file
What are the properties of your your original "AVI" files? AVI is a "wrapper" or "container" format that can contain anything from DV (usually trouble-free) to DivX (often trouble prone).I am using VS11+ (11.5.0157.2 Plus) to edit the avi file...
FYI - A simpler way is to Create DVD Folders on your hard drive, and these will play with WinDVD, without any "tricks". And you can then burn from these hard-drive folders is you wish....I then create an ISO file. When this is done I check the playback using Daemon Tools (to "mount" the iso file) and playback is fine using WinDVD.

Yes to bothI assume the MPEG-2 file plays is OK? Did you check the box (in MF) that says Do Not Convert Compliant MPEGs?)
The AVI file was created from a camcorder DV tape. What are the properties of your your original "AVI" files? AVI is a "wrapper" or "container" format that can contain anything from DV (usually trouble-free) to DivX (often trouble prone).
I'll try the folder option after I try the other options above.FYI - A simpler way is to Create DVD Folders on your hard drive, and these will play with WinDVD, without any "tricks". And you can then burn from these hard-drive folders is you wish.

I have the same problem. Everything is fine, when I check my project in MF just before burning but when I burn my DVD I don`t have a voice. I also created ISO file and there is no voice in this file. I burned lot of DVDs before and I had no problem with sound untill this time.
Can you help me in it?
I have XP and Vista MF 6+ witch patch.

One thing to check is that the audio is on both left and right channels.
Some dvd players will only play audio from one channel, so if by chance your speech is on the right channel it will be silent when played on the dvd player if it only reads the elft channel, but computers read both channels fine, so when played on the pc you can hear the speech.

Yes, but the problem is I don`t have any sound in ISO file. I checked it on my computer and I do not hear anything. It`s seams MF create an ISO file but without the voice.
I also had one problem few weaks ago: half DVD was created without voice and second hald was with sound. It was single layer disc.
I also tryed create ISO file with sound Dolby Digital 5 channels ( L,R,SL,SR and C ) and there is the same problem: no sound.
