A little more detail, please
Please provide us a little more detail.
Are you using FireWire or USB to transfer DV to your PC?
What software package are you viewing the video once it is downloaded? I would recommend Windows Media Player for a start.
Your hardware appears to be better than mine. Have you checked the UVS manual for setting DMA mode on the hard drive, etc ?
Background: DV transfer from Camera to PC is only data transfer, so there should be no "conversion" or change if your downloading your camera's DV video via FireWire as DV Type 1.
Hope this helps, will check for you reply later.

Hi quessed
( George said Please provide us a little more detail. )
At what point do the clips play slowly. In Video Studio or Media Player.
Do you have the latest version of Media Player.(select Help / Check for Updates)
If you are capturing via ‘Firewire’ from a digital cam-corder, your captured files should be Dv-Avi.
Right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they?

As far as I know they are very standard, I do not know the specifications for Firewire, I just know they work, and even on a 500MHz CPU. Speed is not too important for FireWire as it is data transfer, which is different to a Analogue to Digital (conversion) capture.
I can see no reason why the difference in speed of a DV file to the original video. Unless there is a problem playing DV video on your computer. WMP should be able to play the video. Do you have other DVD quality video to play on your computer to ensure that the computer can play video OK? Maybe a DVD player?
I use a PCI firewire card. What kind of video card do you use. Internal, PCI or AGP and how much Bit they are.

AGP
I have an x4 AGP slot with a x8 AGP video card.
But this should not matter when playing video via WMP, unless you CPU was less than 2 GHz and you were playing DV. Check to see if you have a 7200 RPM HD and that DMA is set as per the UVS manual. Please let us know. (the hardware you said you were using should be way faster than required) Do you have a TV Out on your video card?
Can you please be a bit more descriptive than "My problem is in Video Studio but in Media Player the image of the video dosnt look good also. "
I have no idea what "good" video means to you?

Ok, I can play the video in WMP and it look perfect, but in VS when you click Play to view the video, it look in slow motion.
When I look the CPU Usage of my computer is in 99% - 100%. I dont know if this is normal. My HD is a 80GB 7200RPM and is in DMA Mode. I dont have a Video card im using the internal video of my motherborad.
Hardware:
CPU: P4 2.4GHz
Memory: 768MB 333 MHz DDR RAM
HD: 80GB 7200 RPM, 2MB Cache
Partition only for Video Capture: NTFS 30 GB
Video Capture card: Onboard
DVD Burner: Optorite DVD+-RW 16X
