create dvd - customizing menu's

a problem that has been in prior Video Studio versions - is still a problem in VS!2.

Using their menu formats - it makes me crazy that I can't control the color of the buttons on the menu screens. I see white or black in my interface and then I go to burn the DVD and the buttons are pink and you press play and it turns to blue, or the button is white I my screen when I creat the menue and when I burn it and see it on TV, it's green and I press play and turns to orange.... has anyone experienced this and short of creating my own menu's have a suggestion..... ???

I often import my own backgrounds....it would be nice to have control so I can have buttons that match the color scheme rather than take on a life of their own.

Am I missing something here....after all these years???

thanks.

That bugs me too Ilene, but there's nothing that can be done inside of VS. I believe there are instructions by Steve Jones on this forum regarding changing editing menus with third party software, and of course making your own with PhotoImpact.

thanks for the links...
I don't have photo impact. I was hoping to find an easier solution... and wondered if others were frustrated by this as well.
oh well..........

I believe MENUEDIT is software that will allow you to change how menu items appear.

I can confirm that you are able to alter the colour scheme with MenuEdit.
Otherwise you need to use the DVD Menu Maker built into PhotoImpact and outline in the tutorial I created as mentioned above.
