Why Does Ulead Shut Down Shortly After Loading a Project?
I have returned to Ulead after about a year and I have had my problems in the past but this is a new one. As soon as I load my project in, the program shuts down unannounced. I have been able to keep the program open sporadically (long enough to do a 40 minute project) in the last few days but now it is shutting down all the time. Do I need to reinstall or is there an easy fix?

And what does your project consist of? Right click on the clips and post the properties.

To Clevo,
It only happened once this morning and the only source I found in the event viewer is Microsoft Office 12 Sessions. I'm not sure that the Media Center has anything to do with it because it never had this problem last year when I did several projects on this same computer. My son, who is a techie for Microsoft, did clean up this machine in October and reinstalled XP. Would that have any bearing on the problem?
Since it seems to be staying open, I can answer Jeff's questions. The project consists of JPEGS interspersed among different video clips. The properties of the clips are: file format = Microsoft AVI files - OpenDML, frame rate = 29.970 frames/sec, data rate = 3512.11 kbps, video compression = DV Encoder - type 1, video attributes = 24 bits, 720 x 480, 16:9, audio compression = DV audio - NTSC, audio attributes = 48.000 kHz, 16 bit, Stereo.
Thanks for your patience

There are many different types of AVI. From what cam did the video clips come from?

Well, it's a Mini DV cam, and being so your DV-AVI files are probably the most trouble-free to edit. However, I don't understand why the bit rate is only a little over 3500 kbps. That seems very low.
Aside from that, the only thing I can think of is that something in your project is corrupt - whether it be a photo, video clip, audio clip, etc. Have you added audio? If so, what format?
