I just read an article about avivo and it claims to be open to programmers with the "dxva api" ...
Corel could really do something amazing with thier editors with avivo speeding things up. The ATI cards have had a variant of decoding since the rage lt pro in 1997 for dvd (I had one) and it was a problem back then as well with building a bridge for other encoders and editors that also encode/decode to utilize. Now with hd tasks taking even longer regardless of the size of the pc (mine has 3gd ram and 3400 mhz..and cannot get "bigger")
worth a mention. The hd avivo hardware has many options for the common video out since late 2007.(I have the 2600 pro by ati)
a 696mb mpeg2 interlaced encoded 29mb wmv in under 2 minutes, ready to stream on the net is freakin amazing to just sit and watch the progress bar, and then watch it really play...
avivo and corel video studio x2
