Is there such a thing?

I know BlueRay has won the format wars. I also know a PS3 can be used as a go-between for playing BR video on an HDTV.

I can buy a brand new HD DVD player for a low price. Are there blank HD DVD discs available for purchase, discs that are larger than the standard 4.7 GB?

I was looking into the possibility of buying an HD DVD player and burn my HD stuff to HD DVD discs for my own personal use at home.

The blank HD DVD media is still available. Hard to know for how much longer though. It is expensive. I did a Google search and found a 15 GB blank HD DVD disc for $17 delivered (that's one disc).

You may already know this, but a regular DVD burner won't burn HD DVD media. You need a HD DVD capable burner, which may be hard to find. I saw some on ebay for $250.

Seventeen bucks for one blank disc is a bit steep.

It was just an idea I had. Guess I'll wait for the blu-ray price to drop.
