Some simple update questions!

I have Vista Basic x64 and I am running Ulead DVD MovieFactory Plus 6.00.0194.0. It's a great product and I love it, especially the professional-looking menu's.

Anyway I want to install some of the updates for it found on this page:

MovieFactory is currently installed so I was kind of thrown for a loop when I read the installation instructions for the hotfix. The instructions say:

Please follow these steps to install the Hot Fix:

1. Manually remove the DVD MovieFactory 6/6Plus files/folder under Program Files or where you installed.
2. Install this Hot Fix
3. Install DVD MovieFactory 6/6Plus

Now that first instruction says "manually" remove MovieFactory the program files folder. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from my experience, you usually cannot just manually remove a file/folder that's installed. You'll end up getting some kind of error message.

However, I guess I will have to eat my words, because, I just paused, went to Program Files\Ulead and clicked on delete. To my surprise, I got was pop up window that asked me if I want to permanently delete it, because the program is to big for the recycle bin.

I clicked no, for the time being, because I wanted to check with you guys first. I also got to thinking, if I create a copy of the Ulead folder, I can then delete the original folder like the instructions say, then rename my copied folder back to Ulead, after the hotfix is installed. Is that about right or am I way off?

So I apologize if I just not getting this, but I just don't understand what I supposed to do! I would understand it if it said uninstall the program, then install hotfix, then reinstall it, but it doesn't sound like that's what it's saying.

But it does say in the instructions to "install" the program after installing the hotfix, so it must mean it wants you to uninstall the program through Add\Remove programs first. Correct or not?

By the way, I'm assuming that I install the other two updates in the normal way and after I install the hotfix.

You do not need the first hotfix. That is only for users who had trouble installing the program which you did not.
