DVD Movie Factory 4 - Terms

Post by tdew »

Would someone please tell me what the different terms on the DVD Movie front page mean. What exactly is DVD -Video and why is it combined on the same button as DVD +VR Why is DVD-VR separate from DVD +VR

If I'm burning a DVD to a DVD - disc, do I want -Video or -VR?

Next step - if I'm going to record onto a stand alone DVD recorder - what format should I select? Video or VR

Hi,
Maybe I wasn't clear about what I was asking in my last post?
Maybe the question was something that should have been obvious?

I cannot find a help file anywhere in DVD MF4 and it is driving me crazy.
I want to know how things are supposed to work. IS there a help file?
I don't understand why so many of the newer programs are coming up with their own new and unimproved design. I much prefer knowing where to look for the different parts of a program. It makes it easier to get right into it and start using it productively.

On the main menu, if you select Create Video DVD the choices in 4 boxes are
Box 1 DVD -Video or DVD +VR
Box 2 DVD -VR
Box 3 DIVX DVD
Box 4 existing DVD project.

My question is - what is the difference between Box 1 and Box 2 and
when should the different choices be used.

Does anyone know?
Terry

Thanks George,

That pretty much covers it, but I still think a help file should be part of the program. Everyone doesn't have internet access all the time....

There is a 6.9 Meg help file in pdf format in the MF4 directory.
It's called dvdmf.pdf

There is alot of information in it.

For regular video choose the Dvd-video/Dvd+vr icon to start MF.
The -VR and +VR disks are the newer formats that is
being used on the "DVD Recorders" that are on the market.

The Dvd-Video is the standard for all the dvd's we use and also
purchase commercially.

Hope this helps,

MD
