Burning on BD-RE

After a lot of trials I burned with grate success my this year holiday videos with VS 11.5 on Blue-ray and as I said before in this forum the result is really grate.
First discs I used were LG BD-RE, 1-2 x speed and 25 GB
Now I tried another project (same procedure as usual) on a PLATINUM BD-RE, speed 2 x and also 25 GB. After the whole preparing procedure by VS finally the program said 'the burning is failed' and the program turns down. I tried now in the meantime two times - no result.
Is there somebody who has any experience between LG and Platinum Blue-Ray discs?
What can otherwise the reason?
Is there in the meantime a burning software which can copy my own burned discs from one BD to another?
Has somebody any experience with Linux Ubuntu in this matter because I installed some days ago Ubuntu on my other PC (not the one were I edit my videos). But I can't try because my Blue-ray drive is installed in the video PC (Windows)

Hi,
MovieFactory 6 Plus comes with "Ulead Burn Now 4.5".
The "Ulead Burn Now 4.5" software can do all of this plus more.

As for the burning problem it could be a media compatibility problem.
Make sure you are using the latest firmware for the LG burner.

Also, Blu-Ray Discs utilize "Defect Management". Usually when using re-writeable BD-RE you turn this feature on for the first burn.
Then disable it once you know the BD-RE is reliable.
When software does use the BD-RE Defect Management feature it takes twice as long to burn a BD-RE. ( approx 90 minutes versus 42 minutes @ 2X speed ).
Nero has this feature (under Options). I have a TDK BD-RE that fails burning running Nero using Defect Management. I disable it and the TDK BD-RE seems to play without problems.

I don't know if VS uses the Defect Management feature or not. I didn't think it does. I'll have to check because usually I'll write harddisk folders and either use "Ulead Burn Now 4.5" software" or Nero to burn the Blu-Ray BD-RE.

BTW- The most reliable BD Disks I've used to date are made by Sony.
I'm also using a LG BD Disc burner..

Note: BD burning at 2X is almost the same as burning a DVD at 8X (approx 11,000kbs)

Thanks for your trial to help me out, but ..... still a mystery what really happens!
In the meantime I did a lot of trials and proofs and I want to report it here, maybe it could help other users or maybe somebody can help me who knows?

- my burner is a LG GGW-H20L
- I burned three video's perfectly on blue-ray BD-RE from LG and SONY
- new project (the fourth) and I burned this one perfect on a DVD
- but when I try to finish in HD blue-ray after rendering the program say "can not burn and error code 534:-2147216291:0 "
- I bought new BD-RE from PLATINUM and PHILIPS
- same result, same error code
- I googled on this number 534:-2147216291:0 and got some ideas but nothing helps
- In my opinion it cannot be a 'Defect Management' because otherwise it did not burn the first three times
- I wrote a fax message to LG in the Netherlands with the whole explanation: no answer after two reminders (very bad thing I think: once LG has sold the hardware they give apparently 'nobody home'!) I asked in this fax message if it could be a problem within the firmware. But personally I doubt if it can! Bu f ourse so long as I dont ave an answr from LG I don't know exactly if yes or no!
- I installed (with the repair tool) the Ulead VS 11.5 again, still no result
- again I burned a DVD of the same project only as trial: perfect, it works
- but again same error code when I try the blue-ray burning
- I was afraid that there maybe some adjustments were changed by myself within the program so I made new little projects with only a view scenes and took the original TOD files which I used in the first three projects (which one were perfect) - no result, it dosn't work, same error code

- so finally and in this very moment I am at the very end of the road and quite desperate: in the possession of a strong and fast PC, a perfect LG burner, good qualities of BD-RE's, a perfect software, three projects on blue-ray discs ...... and now nothing!
HELP, HELP, HELP - who outside and somewhere in this wonderful world has any experience with this problem (or maybe has the same problem) and is ready to discuss with me and look for solutions?
