VS8 DVD Burn Error

Post by erock1 »

Top of the day at all VS users. I just wanted to share a solution to a DVD burning problem I recently encountered.

First a bit of background. I've never had a problem burning DVDs till about 1 week ago. I've always used 1X media (Princo)and only created individual discs. Recently I needed to create numerous copies of the same movie I made. I purchased 4X media to make the process go quicker. This new media (Princo white top, purple underside) was a brand that I have had great sucess with over the years. I bought a 50 spindle and tested it. Tests went flawless and fast. In the Share program I used the mutiple copy option of VS8 for the first time. At first burning went well. This option allowed me to burn additional discs after the first without the need to re-convert and mutiplex audio & video. Just put in a blank dics and burn.

After about 8 or 10 discs I started getting an error message, "DVDR-INC ASPI..." At first I thought I hit some bad discs but when the error continued I didn't think the media was at fault. I did a net search and found the ULEAD Tech Support web site discussed this type of error message for VS & MF. It offered a fix by replacing a .DLL file. I gave it a try and guess what, the problem went away!

If anyone is experiencing this error, here is the discussion and link to ULEAD Tech page. I know it's for VS7 but it helped me.

When I want to burn DVD, an error message "Generic Error from CD/DVD recording software. Please make sure the drive is ready and try again. Error: DVDR-INC-SPTI-5B-02-03-72-04 [93006:1:0]" shows, how can I fix it to burn my DVD successfully?
Please download ULCDRDrv.zip version 3.5.13.196, and unzip it to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD folder to overwrite original ULCDRDrv.dll file.

Note: If you encounter other similar error messages, please try this update file first. If it can't fix your problem, please contact us and tell us more information including
(1) the brand/model of the DVD burner and the firmware version you have installed
(2) the type of DVD media and the highest writing speed the media supports
(3) the complete error message you encounter.
