Does codec pack installed on system (fe. ffdshow) affects VS (let's say X2) work?
I mean, if VS always uses internal/supplied codecs or rather loads data via system mechanism? Or maybe resorts to the latter only for unknown containers/ formats?
VS and codec pack coexistence.

Codecs- the root of all evil?
I've been a long time user of ffdshow, with no ill effects. It's easy to uninstall and re-install.
Lately though, my knees have been playing up. Maybe I should uninstall ffdshow!
