Scanner giving me nothing but grief in x3

Post by UleadBear »

For the life of me I do not know why my scanner will not work in PI12 or X3 for that matter.

My ancient version of PI6 has never had a problem (and still doesnt) in recognising my scanner but these latest versions pop up the following messages

and when I try to selecting the scanner from the list of devices

I admit it is a fairly old flatbed scanner Microtek Scanmaker 3630 attached through USB and I have Scan Module v6.1 installed. Windows Scanner and Microsoft Office Scanner all find the scanner without a problem. Please let me know if there is a workaround or a manual way of pointing X3 to the source.

PS If anyone is technical enough to explain why PI6 can find it but X3 cannot, I would be very appreciative.

Hmm, not sure if this will help you, but I get similar from time to time and I have a Canon Lide flatbed.

When it happens to me I go to the scanner USB connection and remove the plug, reinsert and presto PI finds my scanner no problem.

It's worth a try.
