Creating/Using My Gallery Images

In all versions of PI prior to X3 I have been able to create galleries of objects that I use regularly, such as logos, so that I can simply drag and drop them as needed. In PI X3 this function appears totally broken. Rather than describe what I have done, could someone tell me step-by-step what I should do to create a gallery/library, add an image logo or text logo to it, giving the library and dropdowns meaningful names.

As a note, I have tried to put the files on a new disk in a new directory but they don't ever show up on disk. Also, while the gallery items thumbnails show up, when I drag them to an image no object is created even though I get the little document symbol by my cursor prior to releasing the button. It is as though it is letting me specify any location I want but then ignores it.

Another note: I have been using PI since version 2 and am finally so irritated by the breakage and failure of Corel to provides fixes that I will move on after this version. Rather than adding lots of new features that no one cares about Corel should fix all the broken stuff that has accumulated over the years and been ignored.
