First, thank you to everyone that posts to this board. I have read a lot and learned so very much from your posts - still have a long way to go before I can say I understand it all. :)

My question: Is there any way to disable the Windows Media Libary? I noticed that it creates very large files when it scans the hard drive - besides taking a verrrrry long, long time.

It does seem to grow somewhat doesn't it
I would have preferred a library more akin to windows Explorer with copy/paste abilities.

The particular file is located at
C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio\12.0\VS_MediaLib_Video.dat
Also for stills
C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio\12.0\VS_MediaLib_Image.dat (Mine is a whopping 65 MB - and that is one of my bedroom computers that I don't use that much!

I can only suggest that you right click the above file(s) in Windows Explorer and set them to "Read Only" to see if that stops any more being added.
To get rid of them all delete the above file(s) and on the next restart of VideoStudio they will be re-created (empty).

Substitute Stephen with your Windows user name.

Thank you for the thought Steve. That doesn't work - after setting the file for 'read only' for each file that it would have imported you are required to say OK to an "Access Denied" window. I will just have to make sure that I stay away from that menu option
