When i had VS8 if you have red in a scene or phot graph the playback on screen was either liney of squished in that area.
the same fault now appears to have reared its ugly head in VS9. It still exists in DWD WS2.
I have made a DVD recently and on my pc it played back perfectly.
On the set top box the sound jumped about about, transitions were dire, there were drop outs every where. very embarrasing infrint of a friends mother whom i had doen this for!
when i checked the properties in Power DVD 4 i was little suprised to find a project set agt 8000 vbr was in places only achieving 2mbs or less?!?
I am going to relook at the process i used in VS8 to get the blooody thng to work and see what happens. at leadst with DVDWS 2 it can cope with difference type of fields:
project settings for slide shows as follows:
cbr 6000 kbps
audio AC3 48000 mhz 256 bps
PAL DVD 4:3 24 bit
dont use non square pix render ( i think this is the main problem in VS8 an dbrought thru to VS9) remember it never existed in VS7 did we ever have teh same problems? i thnk not.
on pics use gauss blur 1
VS9 output and DVD WS2 issue

interesting! would account for why red causes such problems.
I have managed to get around this but the long way around!
First i created my mpg video as frame based and then converted it to field based (lower). I am not sure this is correct as apparently the quality should dimish. i cant see any lower quality on monitor nor TV if done a second time around only change as to the field.
i also made sure my setting was CBR instead of VBR and it seems to fix the problem.
i also made sure i didnt use non sq pix rendering.
add non sq pix rendering and it comes back.
