Using HF100. PAL.
As I currently have no HD equipment (TV set or BR burner), I'd like to create from recordings both standard DVDs and AVCHD-DVDs (for future use).
The question is- what mode (i or p) use for recording?
What is the quickest path to generate both disks from this material (including the same menu, if possible for AVCHD-DVD)?
Should AVCHD-DVD should be p or i?

Record in a mode which is fitting for the subject or which looks best to you. Interlaced video has advantages when there is lots of moving subjects and/or camera panning as it gives a smooth motion. Progressive video has advantages as well but certainly gives different results wrt moving subjects.
If you edit with interlaced video it is important to be aware of field order problems which may occur if you start to mix your media.

The AVCHD files end up as interlaced as far as I can tell. This shouldn't really matter even for progressive footage as deinterlacing original 25p footage is very simple as each field is the same so even "Bob" is fine.
