I am using Movie Factory 6 Plus . I capture using co-ax cable or s-video connections from my satellite set top box. MF 6 does everything that it is supposed to do with one exception. I do not have video while capturing to my hard drive. I do have sound when capturing.. However after capturing the file I have video and can edit just fine. I have Nero on this same machine and can capture just fine with video.
I have an ATI Theater 650 pro capture card, NVIDIA GE Force 8800 GT,
Sound blaster X-Fi.Vista OS
No video when capturing in Movie factory 6 Plus

Some capture-software and capture-hardware just don't "play well together".... The general rule is to use the capture software that's made for your capture hardware. In your case, you should be using the ATI software. (Or, you can use Nero, if that works for you.) Once you have a digital A/V file on your hard drive, you can use Movie Factory to make a DVD.
