Using Cool 3D to create a golf ball

Post by Petal »

I seem to be a bit thick, but I cannot work out how to make a golf ball in Cool 3D. My aim is to have an exploding golf ball in my video. I have insert a sphere in the Cool window. I have tried to put all types of textures on the ball . Some would do the trick but they do not cover the sphere uniformily. It doesn't seem to matter what I do the patterns are always distorted when I rotate the ball. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

You might have better luck if you post your question in the Cool 3D Production Studio web page...

Thanks Ken,
I didn't realise that that forum was relevant to Cool 3d 3.5. Maybe now I will finally work out how to use this probably very useful tool properly.

No problems. Production Studio is just the most recent version of Cool 3D versions 3 and 3.5.

Production Studio is just the most recent version of Cool 3D versions 3 and 3.5.

Actually this statement is inaccurate. Ulead's entry-level 3D program has always been COOL3D. Next version would be COOL3D 4.0. Their targeted version for advanced users was COOL3D Studio which was later changed to Production Studio. It's new version would be COOL3D Production Studio 1.5 or 2.0.

For posting purposes, the COOL3D Production Studio forum applies to both.

I stand corrected!!! In point of fact, C00l 3D versions 3 and 3.5 have been around for so very long without any new version appearing, that one forgets that Production Studio was not the natural progression from them!
