Getting in Touch with Corel?

Post by riw »

I'm beginning to wonder if Corel has any real people working there any longer (?). I have some simple questions on the new PSP X2 Ultimate upgrade, and I can't find any phone number to call. I went through the store--there are no phone numbers there, at all. I've tried the customer support area, but everything there assumes you already own a Corel product, or are asking about a technical problem with an existing product. There's no information about whether or not a person with an existing PSP X2 Pro license would need to upgrade to get the newer RAW support.

Next I tried the apparently official Corel forums, coreldraw.com. I tried to open an account there, and never received the email to validate the account. I tried using a different user name and email address, and again, I've never received an account verification email. Again, I tried with a third email address, and another username, and never received an email to validate the account. This has been over a period of months, so I don't think the emails are just stuck someplace or another. I emailed the addresses listed in the publicly accessible "help" section of the coreldraw.com board, and I receive auto-replies that no-one reads emails to those accounts, nor responds to them.

I'm seriously considering spending the money to switch to Adobe products--although I've used CorelDRAW since v1, and I use Corel products for just about every piece of graphics work I do--DRAW, PhotoPaint, Painter, PSP, and VideoStudio.

Does anyone have any clue of how to get in touch with a living human being at Corel any longer? How can I straighten out my problems with the coreldraw.com forum? Is there any way to get some simple questions answered on any Corel product before you buy it any longer? Or is it--buy it, and then argue about returning it, if it doesn't do what you want?

I don't get it--Corel is dropping in quality and responsiveness. Are these products really worth the money any longer?

Okay I just checked out the site. Under support, there in support services, they list Phone Support as an option and even list pre-sales inquires as a free phone support option. Other options cost $15. But like you say you can't find a number. I doubt it's because they don't want you calling. But rather an oversite (though an extremely inconvenient one).

Well the support section of the corel website is suppose to have a portion for product inquiries. I know I've used it before. But my connection to most sites is not reliable at this moment so I can't double check anything.

What I can give you though is what Corel has already given me since I upgraded.

My invoice for when I upgrade to Ultimate had this support number

1-800-772-6735

You should be able to get a hold of an actual person as they do warn that the call may be monitored and they almost never do that for completely automated calls.

I do believe you have to upgrade to get the Additional RAW support, if they hadn't been offering the free stuff, a discounted price, and I hadn't lost my X2 disc I honestly wouldn't have upgraded as I have no need for the RAW support. But I think that and the Vista compatibility were the big things in this upgrade. Could be wrong, but I think that's the case.

I hope you get a hold of them to be sure though. Good luck.

Thanks! I'm still trying to sort my account on coreldraw.com--I did finally get an email, and they said they reset my account, but it still doesn't work. I've sent them another email.
