How to make a continuous loop in MF5?
How to make a continuous loop in MF5?
I have a 5-minute Windows Movie Maker fideo clip. When I burn it to DVD in Ulead Movie Factory 5 I would like to make it into a continuous loop, so the same five minute clip will play over and over on a DVD player. How can I do that?
Making a Continuous Loop in Movie Factory 5
lazael,
Thank you very much for responding. If it is not exactly that in MovieFactory 5, it is probably something like that. I apprerciate your help.

lazael,
You were right. My Movie Factory 5 apparently should work similarly to your later version. At least, when I clicked on "the Gear," under Navagation Cntrols, I found a box where I was able to select "Auto Repeat when disk playback ends." I put a check in that box but it did not work.
My brief clip does not a menu. So I simply had Movie Factory 5 burn the Windows Movie Maker Movie to discs. Do you happen to know whether it might be possible that the continuous loop feature only works when the "Creat Menu" box is selected?

VideoStudio 10 had the same problem. Maybe VS10 and MF5 share the same burning engine. I have not yet checked to see if this has been fixed in VS X2. My remedy was to simply program the DVD player to repeat.

Making A Continuos Loop
Black Lab,
Thanks for replying. Your solution is a good one.
I do not think I can use that solution because I am making copies for a number of family members who are mostly limited to turning their VCR on and off.
If I did use "Create Title," would the loop feature in Movie Factory 5 work?

I don't know.
As I don't have a need for sophisticated menus I mainly stick with VS for my menu authoring.
But let me ask you this. If your DVD is going to family members why is it necessary for it to loop continuously? I was under the impression you were making something for a trade show or the like that would be running non-stop.

Making a Continuos Loop in MF 5
The brief clip that I am burning to DVDs is a Christmas greeting where each family member's face slowly appears individually on the family tree, then flies away together so text greetings can appear. There is appropriate music throughout the six minutes. I had the feeling that some might enjoy having the clip "loop" on Christmas Day. I thought it was a simple matter to make the loop. That is what got the idea started.

Do you mean DVD Player / "Create Menu" ?Carver wrote:...turning their VCR on and off.

My preview in MF7 shows that a very short clip loops ok without any menu.
MF is supposed to create a compatible movie - i.e. make a disc with a minimum 1G size when burnt. Maybe this is not happening ? If so you might need to pad the disc.
