Thanks Jeff,
actually, when I followed your link and the instructions there, I get the message that I already have an updated version and there is no need of further update: which means that my Microsoft DirectX SDK (Nov2008) is the good one. Do you think thAT i CAN NOW SAFELY UNISTALL my previous Microsoft DirectX SDK (Nov2007) folder which is still there?

Yes. That folder contains far more than is necessary or used in any single installation. I normally download it to my Temp file, and after updating, use a program which searches the computer for unnecessary/unused files on the computer, and it deletes them. DirectX remains updated. :lol:

I use two pretty much interchangeably. Normally, I just use Ashampoo WinOptimizer 5, but I also have a subscription to Tweak VI (which is about to run out!). Both do much the same things, though WinOptimizer also has what seems to be a good, fast defrag module, and is a good deal cheaper than the annual Tweak VI subscription.
