01. Acquire more DVD templates for Videostudio. Is there some site where they are hosted for free or packages that may be bought or community sharing facility for this?
02. Can i add a text box or duplicate an existing one to add text?
03. Can i add a Bonus material text box and point the link to my bonus material?
If the latter two can't be done don't you think the authorinfg part of this program is rather limited ?
How do I.... wih VS

1. To start with have a look at this tutorial..Create DVD Menus From Scratch. PhotoImpact is needed to create DVD menus..
Click HERE for some DVD menu templates shared by forum members.
2. If you're asking about adding a text box in the burning module for DVD menus, than no you can not. You can customize existing ones.
3. Please clarify this. I'm not sure just what you're wanting to do.

The authoring part is limited as it is in essence a video editor.
DVD Movie factory has better authoring and limted editing as it is in essence an authoring app.
A carpenter would find owning one saw rather limiting for doing all his work, which is why he buys several, or makes do with what he has knowing it's limitations

how does one customize existing templates such as adding an extra text box such as a punchline or a personalised message.
If you mean PI can be used to import and modify the content/background etc then also ley me know whether a plug-in is needed fopr PI version X3 (as a friend of mine has this version but not VS). I may then try the same using the pdf guide that steve has uploaded. What is the plug-in meant for anyways??
BTW why am i getting 0kb zipped downloads of user uploaded the tempolates from Driveway?
Just for my information can the templates from DVD menu workhop also be modifed and exported for use in VS?

It is largely a matter of diverse thinking.
Having created several DVD Menu templates from scratch you realise that you can create hundreds of completely individual DVD menus using nothing more than........... VideoStudio.
Think of the DVD menu is comprising of various "bits" like Lego bits.
You have the following:
1. Background.
This can be a picture or a video.
These you can make yourself. I often use a screen grab from the video
(save as still image) - then resize and crop it as required.
2. Sound.
You can generate your own by using SmartSound, alternatively grab the sound from the video itself or use an MP3 or WAV file.
3. Layout.
Use the Custom option

Now you can choose the style of frame you want such as square, round, heart shaped and so on.
Buttons.
You have several different styles of buttons to choose from
Number of thumbnails.
Think diversely - what you are really looking for is how many thumbnail boxes do you want on your menu - 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. Because that is all you are doing - selecting the number of thumbnails. You can later resize and re-position them.
You are only restricted by Your Imagination.
