Starting Moviefactory 6 Plus

Post by David Bottel »

I have been using Moviefactory 6+ for some time, but in order to start the program I have to do the following:
I click the launcher icon to open the launcher screen and then select new project, the create disc screen opens and I select DVD video and click OK, the hour glass appears for a few seconds and then nothing happens.
I then click start, all programs and click moviefactory 6 and the program starts, if I then close the program the launcher menu appears and I am able to start the program again. If I close the launcher menu and then decide to use the progam to either start a new project or open an existing project, I can from from the launcher menu.
If I restart the computer, then I have to go through the full procedure again.
Can anyone offer a solution.

The Launcher is similar to Nero's StartSmart starting point. Closing an application started via it brings the launcher back again. The idea is that you may want to use another of the range of app's next.
So in your scenario everything is working as it should - apart from the no-show after the hourglass case. For the latter are you being impatient maybe ? How long are you waiting ? Maybe MF is still loading.

Your start menu should also however include a direct shortcut for DVDMF.exe. For MF7 it's hidden in a folder called Applications - in the same tree as the Launcher. If not, simply create one in explorer. To do this right-click the exe file and select Send to > Desktop.

IazaeI, thank you for your reply.
I have waited 20 mins after starting the launcher and selecting New Project and the program still has'nt loaded.
The launcher shortcut icon on the desktop contains DMF Launcher exe.
If I create a shortcut icon on the desktop that contains DMF exe. and then restart the computer and click on this icon the program starts after a few seconds, but when I close the program the launcher does'nt reappear.
Any further help would be appreciated.

This is the correct response.
Your no-show from the launcher might be due to a corruption. Maybe you should do a programme repair. This option is usually available as an option when uninstalling MF.

IazeaI,
I have now reinstalled MF6+ and the issue still exists.
Whilst I can'nt start a new video project or open an existing video project directly from the launcher menu, if I select other menu items eg create data disc, and then close this program, when the launcher reappears I can open any program including new video project or open existing project.
Thanks for your help.
