VS Unable to Read Flash Files- New Fix for VS 11 in Vista

Post by mitcs0ke »

I tried the old fix here for restoring the Flash player that VS 11 needs
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=31588
But it would not work for me.

I have discovered a new fix for restoring the original Flash.ocx for VS 11 in Vista for restoring
VS 11 ability to work with Flash files including the bonus Flash files and not effect your current version of Flash

If you have the Box Version of VS11, the fix is easy.
You will need the Following version of Flash. Flashplayer7_winax.exe and the Box version
will have a known safe clean file for you to install.

Search your VS 11 disk for the Utilities folder

Under Utilities folder you will find the Flash Player folder

Select the Flash Player install file

This will install the correct Flash Player in
C\Window\System32\Macromed\Flash

you will now have the correct Flashplayer for VS 11 and you don't need to do anything else.

To keep from losing the Flash.ocx file on your next Flask Player update
do the following.
Make a copy of the Flash.ocx and just save it in the Macromed folder

This way if anything happens you will have a backup copy of the file
to restore the Flash Player without reinstalling.
