I have been using relatively low performance Nvidia video cards with VideoStudio 8 without any problems. I changed to a supposedly higher performance Radeon X800 video card. In edit mode, using multi-trim video sub-mode, I am stepping through the video frame by frame. The image only advances every 15 frames and then jumps ahead (or back) that 15 frames. I believe I had this same problem a couple years ago when I was using a lower performance Radeon video card. I noticed the jump when attempting to single step the video. At that time, I was much less familiar with the VideoStudio program and didnī–¹ correlate the problem with the type of video card in use. This problem also occurs with my VideoStudio 10 program but the jumps are slightly different. I assume the mechanism is the same. If anyone has a suggestion as to how to fix this problem, I would appreciate the help. :?

In your system info, you list an 8400GS. Whilst that might be considered a bit low-end for video gaming, I would have thought it more than sufficient for video editing. Anyway, you've replaced it with something quicker.

You don't give us much to go on, however.

What kind of source video do you have? HD or SD? How did you capture it?

VS has had problems with some video clips from digital cameras, so maybe there's a chance you have a .mov file on your timeline.

I wouldn't think that the problem could be caused by the video card - but then you do say that you had a similar issue with a previous Radeon. It would therefore be worth checking that you have the latest drivers. I've not read of any incompatibility issues with ATi cards and VS.

The rest of your system looks fine. You might try disabling audio whilst scrubbing, see if that changes anything. You'll find that in preferences, but in any case give us details of the video you're working with.
