When I try to add transitions to the overlay track, instead of straddling two clips evenly, it pushes one clip to the side and affects only one side of the clip. I am trying to sync lips to vocal tracks, so I don't want my clips to move. Do the transitions work differently in the overlay track than in the main video track? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Cyndy

Just to test it here is what I did. I put two clips in the main track and put a crossfade between them. I then took the same two clips and put them in an overlay track, with a crossfade between them. I left the overlay clips their default size, so I would have a picture in picture effect and could compare both tracks simultaneously. The verdict: both sets of clips were exactly the same.
However, with Ripple Editing turn on for the overlay track the second clip in the overlay track was automatically shortened by 2 seconds (my transition was set for 2 seconds).
