DVD that wouldn't play...

1st of trilogy
"Samurai I , Musashi Miyamoto"
a 1954 film put to DVD by Artwork c 2004 The Criterion Collection.
Netflix but looks nearly new. I did wash it but no change.

WinDVD9BR with above patches.
WinDVD9BR would not even show an entry screen, with either of my 2 opticals.

Plays fine with WMP 11, or with standalone Samsung upconvert player via HDMI.

Wondered if I was doing anything wrong???

This is the first DVD that I have experienced this with.........
