Have you been successful at installing the components yet? If not;
If you purchased it from Corel (Ulead), did you just recently purchase it, and was it an ESD (download) or box version? If it was a recent ESD, purchase, AND your download link has not expired, try downloading it (main program) again. It could be that the main program was corrupt.
Sometimes people misconstrue the "bundled" versions of Ulead/Corel's software as being a full purchased version, when it is not. Software that is bundled with hardware or other software packages are "free" and not full versions, and generally will have an SE tacked onto the end of the version number. To determine this click on the Help menu, and About Ulead Cool 3D Production Studio. Generally updates, patches, and the ESD components do not install to these SE versions.
Finally I'll add that this is the first I've heard of the components not installing to a full, purchased version. Currently I have it installed on my desktop (Win XP HE) and my laptop (Vista HP). On my Vista laptop I've recently had to reformat and reinstall everything. For C3DPS, I used my original downloaded component files, which I had backed up onto CDs some 4 yrs ago..
- What OS are you running, Vista or XP?
- Where did you purchase it from, Corel, retail store, or some other internet vendor?
- Did your C3D PS come bundled with any other software or hardware?

I am running windows Vista
I purchased it from someone of my family. But i think he bought it on the internet (boxed version with shipping).
I tried the things you've said but none of them work.
But I took a screenshot of my error:

On one of the component installer files, right-click on it, select properties, and then set the compatibility mode to WinXP.
Ok, so try installing the main program from scratch, following the directions posted HERE. Uninstall it and then reinstall, however this time make sure you shutdown UAC, and possibly Windows Defender before installing. Then try to install the components, again with UAC and Windows Defender disabled.
Make sure before accessing the internet you enable at least Windows Defender.
What version of Vista? Vista 32 bit or 64 bit? I use 32 bit and everything installed ok, and I just checked, and found that I'm not running it under WinXP SP1 compatibility mode..

Hi all
Found the problem ?
the items myself & Jarne is talking about is for the following
(please not the red) I did not read it correctly (must be going blind
)we both have the cd version not the ESD
Components for Download Versions
This is where you can download the program contents that were not included in the main download module when you purchased Ulead?COOL 3D?Production Studio Full or Upgrade version
http://www.ulead.com/tech/c3ds/c3ds_ftp.htm
Before installing this patch, please check your version number first and make sure that it is version 1.0. If your version number is 1.0.1 or higher, the version you have is already the updated version.
is also included so you dont have to download the patch either
hope this helps someone else

If you get it to work at all then you have to count your luck.
There are a couple of work rounds here:
How to get Ulead Cool 3D to work in Vista
and
Get ALL of your older programs to Run with Vista

Hi Steve
The screen shot you are displaying has nothing to do with Vista im running XP i i got the same screen display, this is trying to install the Components for Download Versions (ver1.0) if the version is on disc as for Jarne & myself (ver1.0.1 & above) it will not install nor will the update patch
http://www.ulead.com/tech/c3ds/c3ds_ftp.htm
Before installing this patch, please check your version number first and make sure that it is version 1.0. If your version number is 1.0.1 or higher, the version you have is already the updated version. (from the ulead site)
having said the still a interesting link, not convinced though might try when & if i get Vista (trying to avoid at the moment)
