Hi,
I'm using PI X3 and have just reinstalled it. For some reason the File>Share>Web Album - Preview shows a blank web page. Before I reinstalled it was working so I'm not sure what to do to fix it.
Any help is appreciated.

Problem CAN'T be with Firefox
If there is a problem with getting Photoimpact to work with Firefox, the problem absolutely, cannot be with Firefoxvidoman wrote:What web browser are you using? I've noticed that FireFox has this sort of problem. Have you tried IE?
If it works with IE and not Firefox, then Photioimpact is doing something that is different and is NOT standard correct, markup code. Tthe W3 International Consortium that maintains the Worldwide Internet standards intentionally to get it only to work with the non-standard, propriatary Microsoft IE.
The pressure is finally getting to Microsoft to get out of the way and let some progress occur.
If you take the free classes on the W3 site, or get a textbook that gives markup language, that gives the syntax for all of the web markup languages HTML1 through HTML5 (just out and fantastic), CSS, XHtml, XML, PHP, etc, they are made by the W3 Internation Consortium.
Here are free very extensive schools that teach proper code.
http://www.w3schools.com/
You can get certified as well.
The fact that Microsoft keeps attempting to be propriatary and destroys International standards, is the reason that we shouldn't use Microsoft IE, until they follow the rest of the world and all other browsers.
Microsoft does that to get people confused, and is their way of retaining market share.
If you write 100% perfect markup language in any of the markup languages, it is guaranteed to work 100% in Firefox. If not, Microsoft, had paid their way into Corel to make something propriatary to Microsoft Ie ONLY, that is not taught in school or seen in texbooks or in the W3 international
Consortium.
Heck, Ie version 5 is not compatible to version 6, which is not compatible with version 7 which is not compatible to version 8.

Nope, different browsers behave differently. Take my Personal Website as an example.jolo wrote:.....

1. Open it with Internet Explorer and you will see:

2. Open that same page with Firefox and...

That is because the page was written in Javascript:
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
<!--
function MM_reloadPage(init) { //reloads the window if Nav4 resized
if (init==true) with (navigator) {if ((appName=="Netscape")&&(parseInt(appVersion)==4)) {
document.MM_pgW=innerWidth; document.MM_pgH=innerHeight; onresize=MM_reloadPage; }}
else if (innerWidth!=document.MM_pgW || innerHeight!=document.MM_pgH) location.reload();
}
MM_reloadPage(true);
// -->
Re: Problem CAN'T be with Firefox
As I said, any browser, like Firefox, that adheres to International standards cannot be at fault.
Javascript was created initially by Netscape and there are some issues that can have occured. The first thing is that it is also possible that javascript might be turned off by Firefox.
Here is a link that shows how to turn javascript on or off in Firefox 3.5x.
Here is how to turn on javascript in Firefox 3.5x
While Mozilla/Firefox has been the lead driver, along with browsers like Opera and Safari, to fly buy Microsoft's attempt to kill of standards as well as improve and enhance javascript.
In Firefox 3.5x, Mozilla, as attempting to lead by example, has pulled of a major coup (really it is from the tens of thousands, of volunteers who are contributing to improve the open source code of Firefox) and the javascript in Firefox 3.5x
Javascript Screams in Firefox 3.5x.
JavaScript that's more than twice as fast as Firefox 3 and 10x faster than Firefox 2.
Here is a good 2008 article from on of the authors of the some of the most popular textbooks on javascript.

The battle is really every software vendor against Microsoft for standardization. Without it, it just kills creativity, progress, jobs, new companies, improved software, etc.
Think of how many light bulb companies there are and the improvements made in light bulbs an choices we have. This is only because of the adherence to IEEE standards, where the size of the threads are identical for the light bulbs.
Then if anyone has a Xbox, knows that MS has intentionally created a proprietary wireless bridge to disallow the sale of the thousands of G network adapters that you can get for about $10, and force Xbox users to buy their proprietary wireless adapter ONLY. Nothing better about it, than any standard "G" network adapter, it is just that that their are drivers in the Xbox that allow this non-standard network bridge to work with it. Therefore a monopoly on it. Think of what does to the economy and kills ingenuity and creativity.
The issue with the javascript could be that IE has some non-standard old version going and that javascript might be turned off in Firefox.
There also is a Firefox add-in that many people of downloaded and installed that blocks ALL scripts, except for ones that they designate. I don't use this, but it greatly help security and stops many of the unwelcome adds that pop up.
I hope that some web people can check out Firefox 3.5x and particularly how cool HTML 5 is, with how easy it is to play web generated video and audio. About a line of code and lack of concern about the type.
I have a feeling though, with all things said and done. I think that Corel has made a decision to let Photoimpact die a slow death and that there is no one to make any fixes and changes to it.
It is sad.
Maybe, Corel can make it open source and let the user community have a go with it.
Does Corel even have an equivalent product ??
I have felt for years that no graphics product comes near Photoimpact for its feature set/price ratio.
I could be totally wrong about that, but are their any equivalent products at the same price point ??
