Multi TRim Question

I'm not able to figure out the Multi Trim function..
If I open Movie Wizard, then Insert Video, I can import a video file to work on - in my case I am choosing an .avi file.
Then I select the Multi Trim button and the Multi Trim window opens.
Then I play the selected video file and -
Using the F3 / F4 keys I can cut out sections on the fly (VERY cool!) and each clip is entered down into the trimmed timeline video window.
Then I can play all the trimmed cuts back to back - excellent!
Now I want to save all those trimmed clips, ideally as a single video file output.
Next I click on the OK button and nothing happens - the button 'depresses' but that's all.
If I right click on one of the trimmed clips I am presented with two options - Set As Program / Set As Commercial - that's it - and there are no other options to choose.
I can't move back to the Movie Wizard window or anywhere else until I close the Multi Trim window, and then I lose my project (all the trimmed clips).
So what am I doing wrong - what do I need to do to use the Multi Trim function and save it's output? Is the Multi Trim function sensitive to certain types of video files? Seems like it should work on anything?
