Hi my name is Kelly. I have been a user of paintshop pro since 7 came out. Ive bought 7, 8, 9, and recently X2 thru corel but it has not arrived yet. I also own Ulead cd&dvd pictureshow 2 and upgraded that to 4. (dont think corel owned it when I bought it??). Im a mother of 3 children so I cant always buy what I want or when I want.
I have been taking photos for a many years and was happy to switch into the digial world. Ive never actually taken any photo courses, Im self taught. I take some good photos, not proffessional by any means but enough to get me by with family and friends. PSP has been a very valuable tool for me..I use it a lot for fixing photos--too many ways to list but it just has been a lifesaver or rather Photosaver! quite a few times. I have no training in it and I just know what Ive learned on my own. Ive never had time to sit down and learn it the way a lot of people on this board have but I'd like to. I'd love to learn about layers, masks ect. although Ive been using psp for quite awhile, I dont know much in it. I'd love to take an online course or something. Nobody I know can help me learn as everyone I know thinks Im magic with photos (an overstatement)and they depend on me.
My kids (teens and preteens) are all into sports and I feel since I have a wonderful camera and lenses, I use it to produce a dvd for the kids at the end of hockey seasons. (using psp 9 for photo editing then cd/dvdphotoshow4 for the show) I dont know everything about the ulead program or how it all works, I just opened it and snooped around in it enough to put some photos together with some music. Im sure there is more to it but Ive just used it the way I learned and its worked for me very well.
My goal of this board is to learn from what is posted and start learning from page 1 so to speak. I want to learn what the programs can do more so psp, I want to learn how to do more than what I know. I get stuck sometimes in editing photos and just plain dont know what to do or how to ask the help file so this board will come in very handy because of the feedback. Help files dont give feedback and sometimes I spend so much time going thru trying to find what it is exactly Im trying to ask/do. Im kinda one of those people on my own trying to learn what I can when I can but not sure where to learn it from and nobody to ask where to get help. I know psp is a powerful program so I want to really learn it. I cant spend tons of time trying to figure it all out on my own and Ive never seen a course offered specifically on psp(I would love to take one for beginners). I learn better from others.
In my readings so far of this board, there are lots of very intersting topics a person like me can learn a lot from. Im not sure I have anything at this time to give back to anyone else but maybe down the road I will. And for anyone new to corel products Ive listed, if I can open the program and get stuff happening without knowing what Im doing, anyone can.
