PC Crashes during capturing

Hi I have Video Studio 8.01.1000

I have been capturing files for my website, but the PC continues to crash after a few seconds of capturing and I was wondering if anyone can help?

What specifics do you need? I'm on windows xp home edition.

For starters:
1) What are your computer specifications?
2) What are you trying to capture?
3) Exactly how are you trying to capture it, including how your computer is connected to whatever you are trying to capture from?
4) What format are you trying to capture in?
