Is there a limit on the size of file and the number of mark in/outs you can make.
After a number of trims ( did not keep count) in a 15 min clip VS 11+ stopped responding.
Also, can you delete a particular in/out point if so how do you do that ?

multi-trim lock up
I make extensive use of multi-trim and have noticed this myself. Regardless of HD or SD.
It seemed related to my use of the jog wheel in enthusiastic fashion. When I used other methods of scrolling and at a slower rate after a "mark in" the system was more stable. I had attributed it to my computer which (I feel) is minimaly qulified for the task as it is.
As to deleting in/out points.
When a mark "in" is made it stays "open" and can be repositioned until a mark "out" is commited (which mark out can be repositioned too). It acts as if it only works at the trailing end of a roll of film.
Making the preliminary cuts in "timeline" and working with 3~7 minute clips in multi-trim solved my problems. I still consider multi-trim the coolest tool in VS.
hope it helps,
