UVS9 SmartDownload Bug ?

I have installed UVS9 ESD.

I have been trying to get UVS9 to use SmartDownload with out failing, giving a message saying something about not being able to connect. I checked the path to which it said it was attempting to download the file, and found that this path did not exist, the path was ;

C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 9.0\SmartDownload\DVDMenuBonusPack.exe

The part which was missing was the "SmartDownload" folder.

After manually creating this folder, SmartDownload can now download the files correctly and with out error.

Has anyone else tried SmartDownload? and has it worked or failed for you?

Does this information help anyone else?

Has anyone else had this issue?

(I am having issues with Photo Impact 10's SmartDownload also, but its problem is not as simple as UVS9's to solve.)

Is your USV9 a CD or ESD ?

The usual solution to Smart Download problems, and I've had 'em myself with PhotoImpact 10, is to download the ESD content files manually then run their installers.

Instructions on doing this are explained here for those in the Asia/Pacific region, which includes Australia;

As for Smart Download being problematic, yes...it sometimes is. I had problems with PhotoImpact 10 for some time before giving up and just downloading the ESD content files and installing them manually.

This was fixed soon after, but not before I lost patience.
