split audio-no sound

I have split audio by right clicking a video track from an imported DVD.
Sound track appeared in timeline audio track as .mpg
Share- create sound file-save as .wav-rendered.
Double clicked saved file on hard drive and real player played file but without sound.
Imported the wav file into my VS 11+ project and the clip counter moved
but the clip did not play anything.
What am I not doing right ? ....................Ken

Cannot see anything obvious that is wrong. have you tried a different source file?

Start a New Project
Import your original clip to the timeline.

Does it play audio

Do not ¡¥split audio¡¦

Share Create Sound File.

A Thumbnail/clip will be placed in the audio library.
Does that clip play.
